How to create your profitable coaching offer
Here is what went wrong in the first year of my business…
I thought that there was something like the perfect offer, the million dollar idea! And it was just about somehow finding THAT one offer that would make all my biz struggles go away.
So whenever I created my coaching offer and clients weren't rushing in within a week, I threw everything out, all that hard work in the garbage and started from scratch.
Sounds familiar?
If you have tried to get your own coaching or healing business off the ground for quite some time, you are probably wasting your precious time and energy creating offer after offer!
It's time to break this vicious cycle and start creating your signature offer that you are able to stick with long-term!
If you want to build a successful business that you are passionate about, start creating an offer that you truly believe in. Use your unique gifts, background and experiences. And then - and this is the hard part - stick with it. Test it out, tweak it, talk about it again and again and again, tweak it some more, get better at it, and don’t stop talking about it.
Knowing and applying this can honestly save you years of struggling with getting your business off the ground!
Also, you never want to feel like you are rushing into creating an offer without taking the time to reflect on what your audience actually needs and wants. Instead of going for the latest trend or "viral" idea, take the time to journal on the questions below to create more clarity around your life's purpose and what your soul is calling you to do.
Step one: Your purpose
Start by getting clear around your big WHY behind your business! If the foundation of your business is out of alignment, it will be really hard to come up with a profitable offer, so don't rush this process either!
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
What is something that friends come to you for help?
What change do you want to see in the world?
If you could be/do/have anything in the world, what would it be?
What kind of work or activity brings you the most joy?
Step two: The transformation
When you created clarity around the big picture vision for your business, get a little bit more specific. Think about who your potential client is and what exactly the problem is that they are coming to you with. You also want to make sure to reflect on the wins that your clients will experience after working with you.
What is the bigger purpose of your business?
What is the problem you solve with your business and offer?
What is the thing your ideal client wants more than anything?
How does the day-to-day look like for your client before working with you?
What is the transformation your client goes through when working with you?
Step three: The How
Now that you know exactly what transformation and problem you are speaking to, it's time to put on your expertise hat! Meaning: You as the expert (and before you come at me, YES, you are the expert! Own it!), how do you want to deliver this transformation. Think about the best way to guide your clients through a process that will help them solve the problem they currently have.
What is the most effective way to solve your client's problem?
What do you stand for? What are the values of your business?
Which tools and processes do you love the most in your work?
How can you infuse more of your personality into your offer?
What makes your offer unique?
Now, don't get me wrong, I've made this mistake too. Launching new programs again and again without ever really committing to one of them. But, let me tell you, it's a fast pass to burnout and frustration. The real treasure lies in committing to one offer because you believe in it, you love to run it, and you love it enough to stay with it, make it better, and make it work long-term.
So, take a deep breath, grab your journal, and start reflecting on your life's purpose. Trust me, it will change everything in your business. And who knows, you may even find yourself having a little too much fun creating that compelling offer!
