What is breathwork?
I am trained in a modality called "Revelation Breathwork". This is an active form of breathing that leads to a sympathetic activation while holding safety. It often creates a release of emotion and helps people shift from overthinking to clarity.
How a session looks like
Every session - no matter if it is a group or individual session - starts with setting your intentions. What do you want to release and what to you want to receive?

Lying down, I will guide you through a grounding ritual to prepare your body, mind, and energy for what's ahead.
Each breathwork session is accompanied by music. I am curating a new playlist for each session, adapting it to the intention of the session, the current astrology, and - if it's a 1:1 session - to your favorite music and specific goals. You'll breathe through the mouth for the active breathing portion, in a double inhale pattern. Of course I'll explain the breathing pattern in detail and model it for you before we get started.

Throughout the session you'll notice that the music will pick up speed, and I will invite you to get deeper with your breathing to build up energy. Although each session is unique, you'll probably start to notice that after a couple of songs, you'll be less in your head, and you may feel tingling in your body, a deep release of emotion, and/or clear answers to questions you have been asking for a long time.
From a physiological perspective, this type of breathing will shift your ph levels in your blood, lowers your CO2, and thus creating less activity in your pre-frontal cortex (the part that is analyzing and overthinking at times). The sympathetic activation in safety also leads to a shift in your relationship with being uncomfortable.

After the active breathing part, which lasts about 30 minutes depending on the specific session, I'll guide you into the relaxation phase of our session. Here, you'll return to nose breathing (like Savasana during yoga), and you just get to relax and receive. While the active breathing part can feel like work sometimes, in the relaxation phase you'll typically feel a sense of complete bliss. You could feel like you are floating, like everything makes suddenly sense and finally clicks for you.

This type of breathwork session can be done in-person or virtually. I actually love virtual breathwork sessions especially because you are in the comfort of your own home, creating an added layer of safety in your body. Plus, for some people it feels better being guided by a person via zoom call as they can tend to feel self-conscious with your eyes closed if the facilitator is physically in the room with you.
